Disappoint them.

They expect you to stay your kind,
loving self when they hurt you.
Because you're "the good person."
The understanding one. The patient
one. The one who keeps giving
second chances long after the
damage is done.

Disappoint them.

Speak up. Draw the line. Set the
boundary. Revoke their access to
you.

Disappoint them.

Your wounds don't owe access to the
person who broke you.

Your wounds don't owe understanding
to the person who broke you.
They owe you the explanation, not
the other way arround.

Disappoint them.

They expect you to explain to them
how their actions hurt you, over and
over, as you've always done. Because
you're the one who wants to give them
the benefit of the doubt. You're the
one who wants to keep the peace.

Dissapoint them.

You don't need to explain to them
why you're healing the way you are
as a result of what they did to you.

You've explained to them enough
times. They've watched you bleed
from their knives enough times.

Disappoint them. Stop bleeding in
front of the ones who stabbed you.

Trauma bonds keep you hooked
trough confusion, inconsistency
and a crumb trail of temporary
moments of kindness on a path of..
emotional deprivation.
