LAW OF KARMA

Across the ancient world, sages whispered that nothing in existence is ever lost, nothing forgotten, nothing without consequence. Karma is not punishment. It is cosmic memory, the hidden mathematics of the soul recorded in the invisible archives of the universe.

From the Vedic Ṛishis, karma was the ṛta, the law that binds stars and humans alike. They taught that every act, thought, and intention writes itself into the subtle body, forming threads that follow the soul from lifetime to lifetime. In the Upanishads, the soul returns “according to its deeds, according to its knowledge,” carrying impressions like seeds waiting for the right season to sprout.

In Kabbalah, karmic debt appears as the law of Tikkun, the correction of the soul. Every incarnation is the soul attempting to repair fractures it created through imbalance, injustice, and misuse of power. Here, karma is not fate, it is a mission: to restore harmony where we once created disharmony.

The Egyptian Mysteries spoke of the Weighing of the Heart. The heart, seat of memory and desire, was placed on the scale against the Feather of Ma’at. This was not merely an afterlife judgment but a symbol of how the universe balances every action. A heart heavy with unresolved truths, broken oaths, or misused energy pulls the soul back into material realms to settle its debts.

In the Hermetic tradition, karma is called the Law of Cause and Effect, the alchemical truth that “as above, so below,” and “as within, so without.” Every vibration released returns amplified. Thoughts are spells. Emotions are offerings. Intentions are contracts.

The Gnostics taught that karmic debt is the gravity of the lower aeons binding the soul to cycles of rebirth. The Pistis Sophia speaks of souls who “did not complete their mysteries,” returning again until the inner light is purified from the stains of ignorance and misalignment. For the Gnostic, karma is not cosmic punishment but the soul correcting its distortions as it ascends toward the Pleroma.

In African spiritual traditions, karma appears as ancestral debt. The unresolved energies of one’s bloodline that seek healing through the living. Yoruba teachings speak of ayanmo (destiny) shaped by one’s past actions and the actions of one’s lineage. The spirits do not punish; they balance. What was broken must be mended. What was taken must be restored. What was ignored must be acknowledged.

The mystery cults of the Mediterranean saw karma as an invisible chain binding souls to incarnations until they understood the sacred lessons woven into their experiences. The Orphic tablets warn: “You will find the fountains of Memory and Oblivion. Choose wisely.” Memory....knowing your karmic path liberates. Forgetfulness binds.

Ultimately, karmic debt is unfinished energy. It is the echo of your past selves calling you to complete the story. It is the universe’s way of keeping the soul honest, balanced, and aligned. It is your own spirit demanding growth, truth, and correction.

When you understand karma, you no longer fear destiny. You become destiny.

“The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate. That is to say, when the individual remains undivided and does not become conscious of his inner contradictions, the world must perforce act out the conflict and be torn into opposite halves.” ― C.G. Jung, Aion
